Jesus said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:14-16
Welcome to my Toddler Bible Blog. Here I will share the daily Bible lessons I give to my 2-year old son Gabriel. Each week we will study a theme from the Bible, divided into 5 lessons. I start by reading the Bible story to him from a children's Bible. Then we get creative and make a card about our daily lesson. When we put all the cards together, we'll have our very own Toddler Bible!
I'm starting this blog for 2 reasons. The first one is to make sure I keep doing these Bible lessons and hold myself accountable. The second one is to give other moms and toddlers the opportunity to join in the fun! So if you are interested in starting Bible lessons with your toddler, please let me know, and we can go on this journey together!
I'm sorry for the lack of updates, but Gabriel has decided he doesn't want to color anymore ;) Well on most days anyway, and then when he does want to color, he prefers to do his own thing. Since he is too little to force things on him (plus the fact that I spent way too much time online trying to find the perfect coloring pages), we'll just try something else. I'll start a new blog about it soon!
He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars—if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be." (Genesis 15:5)
You can find this picture here. I let Gabriel put the star stickers on it. I'm amazed at how well he can handle these little-bitty stickers now, compared to just a few weeks ago!
Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.
The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you." (Genesis 13:12-17)
Here is the last part of our lessons about Noah. You can find the coloring page here and the rainbow here. I helped Gabriel with the rainbow to get the colors right.
A quick update: because we were gone for 2 days last week, I got a little behind on Gabriel's lessons. So I decided to take this week off (we still have 1 Noah lesson to finish though) and prepare the lessons for the next few weeks. Next week we'll be learning about Abraham!
In our second lesson about Noah, we learned about how God made it rain for 40 days and 40 nights. Gabriel put an ark, clouds, and raindrop stickers on this card.
And then he learned about the dove that Noah sent from the ark. You can find this coloring page here.
Our next story is about Noah's Ark. First Gabriel colored this coloring page. He got a little excited with some dark colors which made it hard to see the picture! So I let him do another one and put that one on the card.
Then I printed some animals, cut them out and he pasted them on the card. Here are some pictures you can print and use.
I'm 36, was born and raised in Holland, and moved to Texas when I married my cowboy Cary in 2005. Our son Gabriel is 7 years old and is in homeschool 2nd grade. Our daughter Naomi was born on January 27th, 2014. We live out in the country on a little hobby farm. I'm a Christian and try to love and serve the Lord with all my heart.
