Welcome to my Toddler Bible Blog. Here I will share the daily Bible lessons I give to my 2-year old son Gabriel. Each week we will study a theme from the Bible, divided into 5 lessons. I start by reading the Bible story to him from a children's Bible. Then we get creative and make a card about our daily lesson. When we put all the cards together, we'll have our very own Toddler Bible!

I'm starting this blog for 2 reasons. The first one is to make sure I keep doing these Bible lessons and hold myself accountable. The second one is to give other moms and toddlers the opportunity to join in the fun! So if you are interested in starting Bible lessons with your toddler, please let me know, and we can go on this journey together!

Week 1: Creation (1)

Week 1 is about how God created the world in 6 days. On Day 1, He created light, and day and night. I decided to combine this with Day 4, when He created the sun, moon and stars.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
(Genesis 1:1-8)

And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day. (Genesis 1:14-19)

Today we made a postcard, with on one side Day and the other side Night. I cut out the sun, clouds, moon and stars because Gabriel doesn't know how to use scissors yet. I let Gabriel glue and paste them on the card (with a little help). Then I let him color, with orange and pink markers to create a sunset, and with yellow chalk to make more stars. Gabriel was very proud of his work!

And here is a song that you can sing with your toddler this week:
